Attorney-at-law Ph.D. Damir Primorac was born in 1969 in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from Law School at University of Split in 1993. In 1994 he became a court trainee at Municipal Court of Split and he passed Bar Examination (Judicial State Exam ) in 1995. On 20th June 1996 he was appointed a judge of the Municipal Court of Split and he was executing that function until 31st January 2005. In this period between July 1998 until the end of 1999 he was a Deputy Chief Justice at Municipal Court of Split. On 1st February 2005 he was appointed a judge of the County Court of Split and he was on that duty until September 2008. During his career at County Court of Split he became a member and later in July 2007 also a President of Split County Court Judges' Council. During his whole judicial career Mr Primorac was judging only in criminal cases. On 2nd October 2008 he was enrolled in Directory of Lawyers at Croatian Bar Association and together with attorney-at-law Mato Krmek he founded Primorac & Partners Law Firm with head office in Split. The Law Firm started with work on 3rd November 2008.
Besides his long standing career as a judge and lawyer, Mr Primorac has also built a scientific career.
In 1997 he got master's degree from Law School at University of
Split at postgradute study "Law of the Sea". Theme of his master's thesis was "The Company Capital with special reference to German and Anglo-Saxon Commercial Law". Later in 2007 he got Ph.D. from Law School at University of Zagreb. Theme of his dissertation was "Criminal offences against safety of maritime transport". Also in 2000 he participated in professional training in USA, Connecticut, Illionois, getting aquainted with judicial system of the USA through their judicial institutions. The same year he was appointed a honorary citizen of Crystal Lake, USA. Since 2007 he has been actively involved in a scientific project of Law School in Zagreb called "Upgrading Croatian Legal Sanction System"
In his recent scientific career, on 14th April 2009 Mr Primorac became an assistant professor at Law School at University of Mostar, where he works as a teacher and assistant at the Department of Criminal Procedural Law. At the Department of Forensic Sciences at University of Split on 4th June 2009 he became a Deputy Head of Department and holder of subject Criminal Procedural Law II. Since October 2011. has been teaching "Sports misdemeanor law" to Postgraduate study "Sports law" in Split. In 2003 he also passed Public Notary Exam.
Since 2007 he has been executing a function of Chairman of Croatian Football Federation arbitration.
He is a full-fledged member of Croatian Academy of Legal Sciences and American Judges Association. On 1st June 2009 he became a member of the Council of Department of Forensic Sciences at University of Split.
He was also granted the status of Homeland war soldier – volunteer from 14 January 1991 until 5th January 1992.
