Damir Primorac, PhD
Attorney-at-law Damir Primorac, PhD, (born in 1969)
is a Full Professor at the Forensic Sciences Department of the University of Split and an Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated and received the Master degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Split. He received the PhD degree from the School of Law of the University of Zagreb. From 1996 till 2005 he was a judge of the Municipal Court of Split, and from 2005 till 2008 of the County Court of Split. Over a period of time he was the Deputy President of the Municipal Court of Split. He was the President of the Judges Council of the County Court of Split. In 2000 he spent two months at specialisation in the USA (Connecticut and Illinois). He is a honorary citizen of Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA. He passed the Civil Law Notary Public Tenure Exam. From 1999 till 2005 he was the President of the Civil Service Tribunal of the County Courts of Zadar, Šibenik-Knin, Split-Dalmatia and Dubrovnik-Neretva Counties.
In 2008, together with the attorney-at-law, Mato Krmek, he founded the Primorac i Partneri d.o.o. Law Firm, with its main office in Split and branch office in Zagreb, to work as an attorney-at-law in the Firm since. By the Croatian Bar Association he is acknowledged the professional speciality in the Criminal Law. He is a full member of the Academy of Legal Sciences of Croatia, and was a member of the Presidency of the Academy of Legal Sciences of Croatia (2018-2022). From 2022. he is a member of the Scientific Council Academy of Legal Sciences of Croatia.
He is the holder of the course of Criminal Process Law II at the Forensic Sciences Department of the University of Split, and of the course in the Sports Misdemeanour Law at the Post-Graduate Studies of the Law of Sport at the Faculty of Law of the University of Split. He is a teacher at the Post-Graduate Studies in the Law Sciences – the Division of the Criminal Law Sciences at the School of Law of the University of Mostar, holding two courses – Criminal Process Law and Criminology.
He is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Science. From 2000 till 2016 he was a member of the American Judge Association. He is a member of the Election Board of the Croatian Football Association. From 2007 till 2018 he was the President of the Croatian Football Association Arbitration Tribunal, and from 2013 till 2018 the President of the Appeals Board of the Split-Dalmatian County Football Association. From 2015 till 2016 he was a member of the Parole Board of the Republic of Croatia. Since 2021 he is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Split. From 2022. he is a President of the Arbitration council Split Sports Association. From 2024. he is Vice President of the Appeals Council for Anti-Doping – Croatian Olympic Committee. He is the author of three books and numerous scientific and professional articles in the fields of the criminal process law, criminal law and sports misdemeanour law. He is a participant of numerous international and national scientific and professional conventions. He is a volunteer participant of the Homeland War in Croatia.
